Nerd Alert! KitchenAid Canada just followed me on Twitter! Exciting day for me  lol

And when I shared my excitement they Favorited and answered me! lol Im such a nerd!

But seriously, one of my favorite life possessions is my KitchenAid Mixer! I even pimped mine out with vinyl a while ago with my cupcake business name!

Some day I dream of having the bigger hot pink one...

Or a Purple one... I LOVE Purple! This is soooo me!

Home Improvement Wednesday, why not ;)

Even though it's supposed to be Home Improvement Saturday, I just got these new photos of our house listing for our new flooring we did 2 weeks ago and I had to share!

Jaime and his friend worked their butts off for 3 days to get everything installed and ready and it turned out beautifully!

Here are a few pictures of the process.

And of course, the before and after pictures! Such a beautiful difference! I hate that it took us 9 years to do it lol!

DIY Tuesday - That Time I cut my hair....

Lol So today I did something potentially really stupid, but worked out in the end lol I cut my own hair!  I have been wanting a haircut for a while now but haven't had the extra money to spend on myself. This morning I became fixated on the idea and I decided "I could just do it myself...". I cut my children and husband's hair, so I have real hair cutting scissors and I thought worse comes to worse I can ask my dad to borrow some money to get it fixed lol

I prepared by watching some trusty YouTube videos to get some tips and then gave myself some time to cut it in the bathroom. Here's my before shot... Please ignore the makeup less face and non-straightened hair...

I plopped Lemon in front of a movie, I started by straightening my hair first, then I started snipping away...

Bye bye dead fried ends! Hello fresh cute cut! I think I did pretty well for my 1st time cutting myself!

Home Improvement Saturday!

Not much going on this week thus far, but this week will be busy! We (lol who am I kidding, I!) are going to be ripping up carpet in preparation for laying laminate upstairs next weekend!

I started this week in the hallway! Now onto the bedrooms!

Wednesday we went and picked up the new laminate! Cant wait to see it all down! The upstairs is going to be so nice!!

Fashion Friday - Toddler Style

Little something different for Fashion Friday - Its Toddler Fashion Friday! lol

Lemon has really taken to dressing herself these days! Most days I try to suggest something but she usually dresses herself. This means a lot of mismatched socks (which is strange since I match the socks in her drawer ;)) and leggings with none matching dresses. But its cute none the less ;)

Here are two of her latest fashions!

Yellow Flower Dress from Carters, Gold & White polka dot leggings from Old Navy. Unseen mismatched socks and her Silver and Pink Sneakers. Her hair was in a pigtail she took out just before the picture!

And todays fashion! Teal Dress from Old Navy, Striped leggings from Carters and her fav. sneakers of the moment. Double Pigtails (Piggys as we called them) to complete her park look!

This is such a fun age where she chooses her own style and really coming into her own! I'm just having so much fun with having a little girl! Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Recipe Wednesday - Skor Bit Bars!

Tonight on Recipe Wednesday I'm sharing one of my favorite recipes for Skor Bit Bars! These are a family and friend favorite around here! They never last long and people are always asking me for the recipe, so I thought what better way to celebrate my very first Wednesday Recipe than with such a great Recipe!

Skor Bit Bars

Ingredients

·         1 box Ritz crackers

·         1 package Skor Chipits

·         1 can Eagle Brand Condensed Milk (300ml) (get the real stuff ;))

·         1 cup milk chocolate chips

Preparation

·         Crush crackers into small crumbs. 

·         In large bowl, mix crackers, ¾ the bag of the Skor Chipits, and the can of condensed milk.

·         Press into bottom of greased 9x13inch pan.

·         Bake at 350 degrees/176 Celsius for 10 minutes.

·         Immediately pour the chocolate chips evenly over the top of the bars. Allow them to sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread evenly over the top. (If they aren't melting, stick the pan back into the oven for a minute or two.) Sprinkle on the remaining skor Chipits. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

I'm hoping to post daily but I'm sure with the kids I may miss some days. I'd also like to start Vlogging more often. Its something I've attempted a couple of times but just end up forgetting about and deleting after a few days. So in an attempt to post more vlog videos I can also make a video based on the themes and post it on my youtube channel located here - SimplySophieVlog
